Parisar, Pune India
Parisar has been one of the leading CSOs working in the field of environmental awareness, education and action since 1982. It is based in Pune but has been networking with organizations in other cities in India on issues relating to the environment since the early nineteen eighties and has through meetings, lectures and workshops helped to raise the awareness on issues such as Mega Dams, Sustainable Agriculture, Urban Planning, Heritage and since around 1995 more and more about Urban Transportation policy and its multifarous impact on the environment. In recent years (about 10 years) Parisar has been working almost exclusively in the area of Sustainable Urban Transportation, and has been a leading advocy group promoting NMT and Public Transport, while at the same time speaking out against auto dominated planning in urban areas.

Red Activa Sustran LAC, Santiago, Chile 
For too long, the only networks of people interested in the issues of social equality, transportation and health, functioned exclusively in English, limiting information and exchange between groups and individuals in Latin America, despite the leadership of several of our own cities in these issues.

Between 2006 and 2007, the growth of interest in the promotion of active transportation in several cities throughout Latin America and a series of international initiatives opened the possibility for representatives from governments, civil society, and private organizations to meet and begin to exchange knowledge and opinions. This way, we discovered that similar initiatives were flourishing throughout the world. From this grew the desire to meet and be able to share and grow together, a process that began with a group project to develop Sustran LAC (Sustainable Transport Action Network-Latin America & the Caribbean or Red de Transporte Sostenible para América Latina y el Caribe).

Ciudad Viva, Santiago Chile

Ciudad Viva is a community-based organization that has been active in Santiago, and particularly urban transport issues, since the mid-1990s. Founded by the coalition of 25 community organizations fighting an urban highway project (Costanera Norte), it organized a Citizens’ Sustainable Transport agenda in the early 2000s and has worked hard to put both citizen participation and sustainable transport on the local and national planning agendas.

CICLOPOLIS, Quito, Ecuador

CicloPolis is an organization that promotes using bicycles like a way to commute people in the city.
One of the most important projects in Quito is Ciclopaseo Semanal that consists in offer a sure route (30 km) for people, specially cyclists and runners, between north and south of the city, without noise, cars or motorcycles. Around 30 000 people participate every sunday in this activity, since 09:00 until 15:00.
CicloPolis has support of town council, police, red cross and other institutions.

ViaCiclo - Associação dos Ciclousuários da Grande Florianópolis

The ViaCiclo - Associação dos Ciclousuários da Grande Florianópolis (Cycling Users Association of Florianópolis and Region) is a civil society organization (non profit) founded in 2001 in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina state, southern Brazil.

It operates mainly in Florianópolis and surrounding towns, but is articulated nationally. Its goals are to promote and defend the use of bicycles in the city through various actions. Among this actions, are the courses, surveys, petitions to government agencies, educational campaigns and participation in decision-making processes of public policy.
