The locomotives network developed into 3 regional networks, under the umbrella network. The following activities were executed under the umbrella network, with participating civil society organisations from all 3 regions. |

CSO partner meeting in the Netherlands, 27 April - 1 May 2009
From 27 April to 1 May 2009 11 civil society organisations in the Bicycle Partnership Program got together in the Netherlands. I-CE hosted the meeting. Civil society organisations from India (IDS Delhi, Parisar Pune), South Africa (BEN South Africa), Botswana (BEN Botswana), Uganda (FABIO), Ghana (CCE), Brazil (ViaCiclo Florianopolis, Transport Ativo Rio de Janeiro), Ecuador (Biciaccion, Ciclopolis) and Chile (Ciudad Viva) participated in the meeting. |

CSO partner meeting in Quito, 8 – 10 September 2008
The CSO partner meeting in Quito took place from 8 – 10 September 2008. Participants came from civil society organisations in India (Rajendra Ravi from IDS), South Africa (Andrew Wheeldon from BEN South Africa), Uganda (Patrick Kayemba from Fabio), Brasil (André Soares from ViaCiclo and Zé Lobo from Transporte Ativo) and Chile (Magda Morel and Thomas Marin from Ciudad Viva). Besides the CSOs, also a number of I-CE resident representatives attended: Anvita Arora from India, Namhla Jaxa from South Africa, Rahab Mundara from Kenya and Carlos Moreno from Colombia. |

Education seminar, 5 & 6 September 2008
On the 5th and 6th of September 2008, Biciacción organised a seminar on education in relation to non motorised transport. During the opening session Roelof Wittink and Angela van der Kloof (both I-CE experts from the Netherlands) talked about the contribution of education to sustainable mobility, and a delegate of the Policía Nacional Ecuador talked about how to include youngsters in road education. Also a representative of Colectivo Quito para Todos, the Ministry of Education and Contrato Social talked about this subject. |

Gender seminar, 3 & 4 September 2008
On the 3rd and 4th of September 2008, Ciclópolis organised a seminar on gender and cycling. During this seminar presentations were held on perceptions of gender violence and unsafe public space in Quito (Andreína Torres), Sustainable mobility with a gender perspective (Ma. Fernanda Porras), civic participation with a gender perspective (Andrea Corinez) and the strategical vision on gender and mobility in the Dutch context (Angela van der Kloof). This created a base for a public debate on needs and opportunities for gender inclusive city planning. |
